Commitment to the Environment -- whenever possible, to reduce, reuse, recycle, upgrade to renewable materials, or purchase carbon credits.
Our Store -- allows us to provide high quality living options at affordable rates.
Our Self-help Classes -- provides our boarders with creative opportunities to pursue the American Dream.

Our Story
Desert Jasmine House was begun as an effort to help people with special needs by a person with special needs. Gladys Smith-Duran, our president, was an award-winning employee who was unable to find work, in a tough economy, in part because of her severe asthma. Inspired by the story of how Jewish patriots, through dedication and hard work, turned desert and swamp-land into the highest-yielding flower farms in the world she set out to create her own job. In the process she created a jobs for herself and her son. Hence, her motto, "Its true, flowers do bloom in the desert." Her hope is that her services and products will be the kind of hard-to-find products that make will also make her customers feel like they have found flowers in a desert.
